Soft Serve Base (Fior di Latte)

Orange Soda Swirl

Method

Make Fior di Latte Soft Serve Base

1

Dissolve dry ingredients into milk

In a medium saucepan, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, and salt until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth.

2

Whisk in vanilla

Remove from heat and whisk in the vanilla extract.

3

Chill completely

Transfer to a container and refrigerate until completely cold (at least 4 hours, preferably overnight).

Churn and Freeze

4

Churn the Fior di Latte base

Pour the chilled base into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until thick and soft-serve consistency.

5

Firm the texture

If you prefer firmer soft serve, transfer to a covered container and freeze for 1–2 hours to reach scoopable firmness.

Orange Soda Swirl and Serving Prep

6

Prepare orange soda swirl (optional)

If using orange zest, infuse it into the orange soda by heating gently, then cooling and straining before use.

7

Assemble and serve

Scoop Fior di Latte soft serve into bowls or cones and swirl in the orange soda. Repeat to create a marbled pattern. Garnish with a light orange zest if desired.
