Method
Shrimp
- 1
Prepare shrimp
If not already done, peel and devein the shrimp, leaving tails on if desired. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture so they sear properly.
Marinade / Light seasoning
- 2
Marinate briefly
In a small bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, a pinch of salt, a pinch of black pepper, and optional paprika. Add the two shrimp and toss to coat. Let sit for 5–10 minutes (do not marinate much longer to avoid mushy texture).
- 3
Cook shrimp
Heat a small nonstick or stainless steel skillet over medium-high heat. When hot, add the shrimp in a single layer (discard excess marinade). Cook for about 1.5–2 minutes on the first side without moving so a light sear forms, then flip and cook another 1–2 minutes until opaque and just firm. Total cook time should be about 3–4 minutes depending on shrimp size.

Finish and garnish
If using, add the teaspoon of butter to the pan in the final 30 seconds and spoon the melted butter over the shrimp for gloss and flavor. Transfer shrimp to the serving item (soup, bowl, plate or requested dish) and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately as a 2-piece add-on.
