Cocktail

1

Prep watermelon and mint

Place 1 cup of cubed seedless watermelon and 4 of the mint leaves into a cocktail shaker or a sturdy mixing glass.

2

Muddle the watermelon and mint together until the watermelon is broken down and releases juice and the mint is fragrant. Aim for about 15–20 seconds of firm muddling.

3

Build the cocktail

Add 2 oz rose gin, 1 oz vodka, 0.5 oz triple sec, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup to the shaker with the muddled watermelon and mint.

4

Add about 1 cup of ice to the shaker (enough to chill well) and secure the lid.

5

Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and slightly frosted.

6

Strain and finish

Double-strain the cocktail into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice (use a fine mesh strainer over the shaker's strainer to catch pulp and mint bits). If you prefer a lighter, fizzy finish, top with a 1 oz splash of club soda or lemon-lime seltzer.

7

Garnish with a maraschino cherry dropped on top and a sprig of mint. Clap the remaining 1–2 mint leaves between your palms once and tuck under the sprig for extra aroma (optional).

8

Serve immediately with a short straw or stirrer.
