Method

Falafel Preparation

1

Prepare the Chickpeas

Rinse and drain the canned chickpeas. Place them in a food processor.

2

Add Ingredients

Add garlic cloves, onion, parsley, cumin, coriander, baking powder, flour, salt, and pepper to the food processor.

3

Blend the Mixture

Pulse the mixture until it is a coarse paste. Do not overblend; you want some texture.

4

Chill Mixture

Transfer the falafel mixture to a bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

5

Form Falafel Balls

After chilling, form the mixture into small balls or patties.

6

Fry the Falafel

Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet. Fry the falafel balls in batches until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Tahini Sauce Preparation

7

Mix the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic, water, and salt.

8

Whisk Until Smooth

Whisk until the sauce is smooth. Adjust the water for desired consistency.

Wrap Assembly

9

Prepare Vegetables

Wash and slice the lettuce, tomato, and cucumber.

10

Assemble the Wraps

On each pita or wrap, layer lettuce, falafel, sliced tomato, cucumber, and drizzle with tahini sauce.

11

Serve

Roll up the wraps tightly and serve immediately.
