Method

Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and lightly dust with cocoa powder to prevent sticking.

2

Melt the Butter

In a medium microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter in the microwave for about 30-45 seconds until completely melted. Let it cool slightly.

Mixing Ingredients

3

Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.

4

Add Wet Ingredients

Add the melted butter, eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture. Stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

Baking

5

Fill Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

6

Bake

Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

Serving

7

Cool and Serve

Allow the cakes to cool for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate, and dust with powdered sugar. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
