Method
Energy Drink Base
Dissolve powdered ingredients
In a small heatproof cup combine the cane sugar (2 tbsp), dextrose (1 tbsp), citric acid (1 tsp), taurine (1000 mg), and B‑vitamin blend (1 tsp). Add 2 fl oz of very hot (not boiling) water and stir until all powders are fully dissolved. This creates a concentrated syrup.
Add caffeine and stabilize
Dissolve the caffeine anhydrous (160 mg) and sodium citrate (1 tsp) into the warm syrup. Stir thoroughly until no visible particles remain. If using a preservative, add a pinch now and mix well.
Flavor and dilute
Pour the syrup into a clean 16 fl oz (about 475 ml) bottle or pitcher. Add the remaining 10 fl oz of very cold carbonated water (soda water) slowly to preserve fizz, stirring gently. Add the natural/artificial flavor blend (1 tsp) and mix gently to combine.
Adjust sweetness and acidity
Taste carefully. If you prefer sweeter, add up to 1 tsp additional sugar dissolved in a small amount of warm water. If too sharp, add a small extra pinch of sodium citrate to soften acidity. If flat, prepare fresh carbonated water and gently top up—avoid vigorous stirring to keep carbonation.
Color (optional)
If desired, add 1 drop of food‑grade green or yellow coloring and gently invert the bottle once to distribute; do not shake vigorously.
Finish & Serve
Chill: If not already cold, refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. For immediate service, fill a 16 fl oz glass with 6 ice cubes (optional).
