Beverages - Carbonated Sodas

Beverages - Milk

Beverages - Noncarbonated Refreshers

Method

Beverages - Carbonated Sodas

1

Chill the chosen soda can or bottle (Coca‑Cola, Diet Coca‑Cola, Root Beer, Orange Soda, Mountain Dew, Sprite, or Sprite Zero) in the refrigerator until cold, or use an ice-filled glass to cool immediately.

2

If using a glass: fill the glass 2/3 full with ice (about 1 cup). Open the soda and pour gently down the side of the glass to minimize foam, stopping when the glass is about 1/4 inch below the rim.

3

If using a can/bottle to serve directly: open and serve chilled. Offer a straw on the side if preferred.

4

Place the glass on a coaster and serve immediately to preserve carbonation.

Beverages - Milk

5

Keep 2% milk (white and chocolate) refrigerated at 35–40°F (2–4°C) until ready to serve.

6

If serving in a glass: fill a chilled glass with about 4–6 ice cubes (optional) and pour 8 oz of milk over the ice. For chocolate milk, shake the container well before pouring to recombine any settled cocoa.

7

Wipe any spills from the rim, place a straw if desired, and serve immediately.

Beverages - Noncarbonated Refreshers

8

For bottled or pre-made lemonade/iced tea: chill in the refrigerator until cold.

9

If serving in a glass: fill the glass with ice (about 1 cup), pour 12 oz lemonade or iced tea over the ice, leaving ~1/4 inch headspace.

10

For iced tea made from concentrate or brewed tea: if using concentrate, follow manufacturer dilution (commonly 1 part concentrate to 3 parts water) and chill. If brewing: steep 4–6 tea bags in 1 quart (950 ml) of boiling water for 5 minutes, remove tea bags, sweeten hot if desired so it dissolves, then cool to room temperature and refrigerate until cold. Serve over ice and garnish with a lemon wedge if desired.

11

Provide lemon wedge and straw as optional garnish and serve immediately.

Add-ons & Garnishes

12

Ice: use clean, food‑grade ice. Fill glasses with the amount specified in beverage directions. Avoid overfilling to prevent dilution.

13

Lemon wedge: roll the lemon on a countertop to release juices, cut a 1/8–1/4 inch slit, place on the rim or squeeze into the drink to taste.

14

Straws: insert a straw when serving carbonated or noncarbonated drinks for convenience.
