Preparation Steps
Cook the Spaghetti
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Meat Sauce
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent. Add the ground beef or lamb, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Stir in the canned diced tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Combine Spaghetti and Sauce
Add the cooked spaghetti to the meat sauce, tossing to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
Prepare the Greek Salad
In a bowl, combine chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, olives, and crumbled feta cheese. Drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Toss gently to combine.
Toast the Texas Toast
Prepare Texas toast according to package instructions, typically in the oven or toaster.
Serve
Plate the Greek spaghetti, adding a side of Greek salad and Texas toast for each serving.
