Method

Main - Protein & Carbohydrate

1

Preheat and prepare chicken

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the mini chicken breasts/tenderloins dry with paper towels. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment or lightly oiled.

2

Season chicken

Drizzle the chicken with 1 tablespoon olive oil, then evenly sprinkle 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder over both sides. Rub the seasonings into the meat so each piece is coated.

3

Bake the chicken

Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the juices run clear. Thinner pieces may finish closer to 10–12 minutes; thicker pieces up to 15 minutes.

4

Toast rolls and melt butter

While the chicken rests for 3–5 minutes after baking, split the 4 dinner rolls and brush the cut sides with the softened butter. Place cut-side up on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 3–5 minutes until lightly golden.

5

Assemble mini chicken sliders

Slice each cooked chicken piece in half horizontally if needed to make them fit the buns. Place a portion of chicken on each roll bottom, sprinkle about 2 tablespoons (approx. 0.5 oz) shredded cheddar per slider, then close with the top roll. Return assembled sliders to the oven for 1–2 minutes if you want the cheese slightly melted.

Vegetables & Fruit

6

Prepare carrots and apples while chicken bakes. Rinse the baby carrots under cold water and pat dry. Core and slice the apple into child-friendly slices; if desired, toss slices with a tiny squeeze of lemon (not listed) or serve plain.

7

Arrange baby carrot sticks and apple slices into a divided plate or small bowls for easy, appealing presentation.

Sauces & Extras

8

Put ketchup and ranch dressing into small dipping ramekins. If children prefer, use a single sauce per child. Keep sauces chilled until serving.

9

Serve sliders warm with the toasted rolls, arranged alongside the carrot sticks and apple slices. Offer the dipping sauces on the side.

Serving & Safety

10

Cut each slider into halves or quarters as appropriate for 6–10-year-old kids to reduce choking risk. Ensure chicken pieces are fully cooked (165°F / 74°C). Let hot components cool slightly before serving to children.
