In a large pot, bring 2 liters of water to a boil over high heat.

Once the water is boiling, add 1 tsp of salt.

Add 200 grams of pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente (usually 8-10 minutes).

Once cooked, drain the pasta and set aside.

Butter Sauce Preparation

Making Butter Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, add 50 grams of butter.

Once the butter is melted, add 2 tbs of minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Stir in 2 tbs of chopped parsley and cook for another minute.

Add the drained pasta to the butter sauce, tossing to coat evenly.

Sprinkle with 30 grams of grated Parmesan cheese before serving.

Tomato Sauce Preparation

Making Tomato Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, add 2 tbs of olive oil.

Once the oil is hot, add 1 chopped medium onion and sauté until translucent (about 5 minutes).

Add 2 tbs of minced garlic and sauté for another minute.

Stir in 400 grams of crushed canned tomatoes, 1 tsp of dried basil, 1 tsp of salt, and pepper to taste.

Simmer the sauce for 15-20 minutes until it thickens, stirring occasionally.

Add the drained pasta to the tomato sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
