Sherry Cocktail

0.19 lb (3 oz)dry fino or manzanilla sherry

0.03 lb (0.5 oz)orange liqueur (Cointreau or triple sec)

0.02 lb (0.25 oz)fresh lemon juice

1 dash Angostura bitters

6 cubes ice (for shaking and chilling)

1 to taste lemon twist (garnish)

Sherry Cocktail

1. Chill glass

Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water to chill while you prepare the cocktail.

2. Build and shake

Add 3 oz dry fino or manzanilla sherry, 0.5 oz orange liqueur, 0.25 oz fresh lemon juice, and 1 dash Angostura bitters into a cocktail shaker. Add 6 ice cubes, cap the shaker, and shake vigorously for 8–12 seconds until the shaker exterior becomes very cold.

3. Strain

Discard the ice or ice water from the chilled glass. Double-strain the shaken mixture into the chilled coupe or martini glass using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine-mesh strainer to remove ice shards.

4. Garnish and serve

Express a lemon twist over the drink by holding the twist skin-side down above the glass and giving it a quick squeeze to release oils, then rub the rim with the twist and drop it into the drink as garnish. Serve immediately.
