Cooking the Pasta

Boil Water
Fill a large pot with water, add a pinch of salt, and bring to a boil over high heat.

Cook Spaghetti
Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Making the Bolognese Sauce

Sauté Vegetables
In a large skillet or saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, diced carrot, and diced celery. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.

Brown the Meat
Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.

Add Tomatoes and Wine
Stir in the canned tomatoes, tomato paste, and red wine. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Season the Sauce
Add the dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and let the sauce simmer on low heat for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Finish with Milk
Add the milk to the sauce, stir to combine, and let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
Serving the Dish

Plate the Spaghetti
Divide the cooked spaghetti among serving plates. Spoon the Bolognese sauce generously over the top.

Grate the Parmesan cheese over the pasta and garnish with fresh basil leaves. Serve immediately.
