Method

Cocktail

1

Chill glass

Place a copper mug or highball glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes beforehand if you prefer an extra-cold drink. Alternatively, fill the glass with ice for 1 minute and discard the water before assembling.

2

Add ice

Fill the chilled mug or glass with crushed ice until nearly full (about 1 cup). Crushed ice keeps the drink cold and properly diluted.

3

Measure vodka and lime

Using a jigger, pour 2 oz Tito's vodka over the ice, then add 0.5 oz freshly squeezed lime juice.

4

Top with ginger beer

Slowly pour 4 oz chilled ginger beer into the mug or glass. Pouring slowly helps preserve carbonation.

5

Stir gently

Use a bar spoon to gently stir the mixture 4–6 times to combine vodka, lime, and ginger beer without flattening the ginger beer.

6

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim and, if using, a fresh mint sprig tucked into the ice. Serve immediately with a straw or sip directly from the mug.

Equipment

7

Use a jigger to measure spirits and a citrus juicer to extract fresh lime juice for best flavor. A bar spoon is recommended for gentle stirring; a copper mug enhances the classic presentation and helps keep the drink cold.
