Glass + Garnish
Chill glass
Place the wine glass in the freezer for 10–15 minutes ahead of time or fill it with ice and cold water while preparing ingredients to frost the bowl. If using the ice/water method, empty before assembling the drink.
Add 6 large ice cubes to the chilled glass, leaving enough room for liquids and gentle stirring.
Cut a fresh orange into wheels and reserve one wheel for garnish.
Cocktail
Measure Aperol
Pour 3 tablespoons (about 1.5 fl oz) of Aperol into the prepared glass directly over the ice.
Add sparkling wine
Slowly pour 4 fl oz of chilled prosecco into the glass. Pour gently over the back of a spoon or down the side to preserve bubbles and minimize mixing; this helps create the classic layered look.
Top with soda
Add 1 fl oz of chilled club soda to top the drink and add extra effervescence.
Gentle stir
Using a bar spoon or long-handled spoon, give the drink one or two gentle stir strokes—enough to integrate components but preserve carbonation and the bright orange color.
Garnish & serve
Place the orange wheel on the rim or float it on top of the drink. Serve immediately while bubbly and cold.
