Steak

Optional Marinade

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak (Optional)

If you choose to marinate the steak, combine soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and lemon juice in a bowl. Place the bar steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over the steak. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for maximum flavor.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

About 30 minutes before cooking, preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F/200°C).

  3. 3

    Season the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade (if used) and pat dry with paper towels. Rub both sides of the steak with olive oil. Season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and chopped rosemary.

  4. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned steak on the preheated grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the steak and grill for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or longer according to your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Add Butter

During the last minute of cooking, add butter on top of the steak and close the grill lid to let it melt and infuse flavor.

  6. 6

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

Serving

  1. 7

    Slice and Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve on a platter. Optionally, garnish with additional fresh rosemary and serve with your favorite sides.
