Tuna and Avocado

Sambal Soy Drizzle

Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Sambal Soy Drizzle

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sambal oelek, honey, and lime juice until well combined. Set aside.

2

Prepare the Tuna

Season the ahi tuna steak with salt and black pepper on all sides. Press the sesame seeds onto the tuna to coat it evenly.

3

Sear the Tuna

Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the tuna for 30 seconds on each side for rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

4

Slice the Tuna

Remove the tuna from the skillet and let it rest for a minute. Slice it thinly against the grain.

5

Prepare the Avocado

Slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh. Slice the avocado into thin pieces.

Assembly

6

Arrange the Dish

On a serving plate, layer the sliced tuna and avocado. Drizzle the sambal soy mixture over the top and serve immediately.
