Mousse Preparation
Melt the Chocolate
In a microwave-safe bowl, add the dark chocolate and heat it in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.
Prepare the Avocados
Slice the ripe avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a food processor.
Blend the Ingredients
Add the melted chocolate, cocoa powder, maple syrup (or honey), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the food processor with the avocados. Blend until completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
Taste and Adjust
Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness by adding more maple syrup or honey if desired. Blend again until well combined.
Chill the Mousse
Transfer the mousse to individual serving bowls or cups. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.
Serving Suggestions
Prepare Toppings
If desired, whip the cream until soft peaks form and prepare chocolate shavings and fresh berries as toppings.
Serve the Mousse
Once the mousse is chilled and set, remove from the refrigerator. Top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, and fresh berries before serving.
