Method

Cake Base Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

3

Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract, mixing until well blended.

4

Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.

5

Bake the Cake

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

6

Cool the Cakes

Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove from the pans and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting Preparation

7

Prepare the Butter

In a large bowl, beat the unsalted butter with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy, about 2 minutes.

8

Add Sugar and Cream

Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing on low speed until combined. Add the heavy cream and vanilla extract, then beat on high speed for about 3 minutes until fluffy.

Assembly and Decoration

9

Frost the Cake

Place one cooled cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of frosting on top, then place the second cake layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake.

10

Decorate the Cake

If desired, top the cake with fresh berries and mint leaves for decoration.
