Cooking Instructions

1

Prepare the Scallops

Rinse the scallops under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. This step is crucial for achieving a good sear.

2

Season the Scallops

Sprinkle the scallops with salt and black pepper on both sides for flavor.

3

Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. Ensure the oil is hot before adding the scallops.

4

Sear the Scallops

Add the scallops to the pan in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd them. Sear for about 2-3 minutes without moving them, until a golden crust forms.

5

Flip the Scallops

Carefully flip each scallop and sear the other side for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown and just opaque in the center.

6

Add Garlic and Butter

Reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter and minced garlic to the pan. Allow the butter to melt and use a spoon to baste the scallops with the garlic-butter mixture for about 1-2 minutes.

7

Finish with Lemon

Add the lemon juice to the pan, stirring to combine with the butter and garlic. Cook for an additional minute to warm through.

8

Garnish and Serve

Remove the scallops from the skillet and plate them. Drizzle the lemon butter sauce over the scallops and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
