Method

Cocktail Base

1

Prepare and combine

Add vodka, elderflower liqueur, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker.

2

Fill the shaker with ice (about 3/4 full). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and well chilled.

3

Double-strain the mixture into a chilled highball or Collins glass filled with fresh ice. Double-straining (through both the shaker strainer and a fine mesh sieve) removes small ice shards and any mint bits if broken during muddling.

4

Top the strained cocktail with 2 oz chilled club soda. Stir gently once or twice with a bar spoon to combine without flattening the soda.

Garnish & Finish

5

Muddle mint (optional aroma)

If you prefer stronger mint aroma, gently clap the mint leaves between your palms to release oils, then lightly slap them against the rim of the shaker or glass. Avoid heavy muddling which will make the drink bitter.

6

Thread a cucumber ribbon inside the glass (optional) and garnish with the lime wheel on the rim. Float 1–2 mint leaves on top for aroma.

7

Serve immediately with a short straw so the drinker enjoys the aroma and effervescence.
