Method

Prep

1

Chill a highball or Collins glass by filling with ice and set aside while you prepare the drink.

2

If you don't have fresh lime juice measured, roll a lime on the counter to soften, cut, and squeeze until you have 0.75 oz.

Mixing

3

Build and shake

Discard the ice from the glass. In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz vodka, 0.5 oz white rum, 0.5 oz blue curaçao, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, and a handful of ice. Shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until well chilled.

4

Strain

Fill the chilled highball or Collins glass with fresh ice. Double-strain the shaken mixture into the glass to remove any small ice chips or pulp.

5

Top and layer

Gently top with 2 oz club soda. To create a subtle color gradient reminiscent of a slot machine's spinning reels, pour the club soda slowly over the back of a spoon held just above the drink surface.

Finish & Garnish

6

Garnish with a lime wheel slid onto the rim and a maraschino cherry dropped onto the top. Optionally give the lime wheel a light squeeze over the drink to add a burst of fresh aroma.

7

Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer so guests can spin the layers before sipping — a visual 'FastSpin' effect.
