Gorgonzola Honey Butter

Fig Jam

Bread Zeppelin

Method

Gorgonzola Honey Butter

  1. 1

    Prepare the Gorgonzola Honey Butter

In a mixing bowl, combine the Gorgonzola cheese and unsalted butter. Use a fork or an electric mixer to blend until smooth and creamy.

  2. 2

    Add Flavorings

Stir in the honey and salt, mixing until completely incorporated. Adjust salt to taste. Set aside at room temperature.

Fig Jam

  1. 3

    Prepare the Fig Jam

In a saucepan, combine the dried figs and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, until the figs are soft.

  2. 4

    Blend and Sweeten

Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes. Transfer the mixture to a blender and blend until smooth. Return to the saucepan, add sugar and lemon juice, and cook on low heat for an additional 5-10 minutes until thickened.

  3. 5

    Cool the Jam

Remove from heat and allow to cool completely. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Bread Zeppelin

  1. 6

    Prepare the Bread

Slice the French baguette in half lengthwise. If desired, lightly toast the inside of the bread under a broiler for a few minutes until golden.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Dish

Spread a generous amount of Gorgonzola honey butter on one half of the baguette and a layer of fig jam on the other half.

  3. 8

    Serve

Close the baguette, slice into manageable pieces, and serve immediately. Enjoy with a side of extra fig jam and Gorgonzola honey butter.
