Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

1

Prepare shaker

Fill a cocktail shaker with about 1 cup of ice to properly chill and dilute the drink.

2

Add ingredients

Pour 2 oz Hilton Head Island Cream Rum, 0.5 oz Tito's Vodka, 1.5 oz fresh pineapple juice, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, and optional 0.5 oz cream into the shaker.

3

Add bitters

Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters to the shaker. The bitters add aromatic depth and balance the cream and fruit.

4

Shake

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is well chilled and a good frost has formed.

5

Strain

Double-strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe or rocks glass (if you prefer it on the rocks, fill the glass with fresh ice before pouring). Double straining with a fine mesh will remove small ice shards and any pulp from the pineapple juice.

Garnish / Finish

6

Sprinkle a small pinch of freshly grated nutmeg or a few toasted coconut flakes on top of the cocktail for aroma and a visual beachy accent.

7

Garnish the rim with a pineapple wedge or a lime wheel. Serve immediately.
