Method
Glass Rinse & Preparation
- 1
- 2
If you prefer a colder drink, chill the serving glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes before the rinse step.
Mixing the Cocktail
- 3
Add the rum, vanilla-guava puree, lime juice, and simple syrup (if using) into a cocktail shaker.
- 4
Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) and secure the lid.
- 5
Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until the shaker is well-chilled and slightly frosty on the outside. The goal is to both chill and dilute the cocktail to bright, balanced flavors.
- 6
Double-strain the cocktail into the Chartreuse-rinsed chilled glass using a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer (or a fine strainer alone) to remove ice shards and any fruit/puree solids.
Garnish & Serve
- 7
- 8
Serve immediately. The drink should be aromatic with a subtle herbaceous note from the Chartreuse rinse, bright lime acidity, and sweet vanilla-guava fruit with rum backbone.
