Cocktail
Garnish & Rimming
Method
Prepare Glass
Rim the glass
Run the lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or coupe glass to wet it. Spread the coarse salt or Tajín on a small plate and press the wet rim into the salt to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.
Make the Cocktail
Add the blanco tequila (2 oz), Cointreau (1 oz), fresh lime juice (0.75 oz), hibiscus syrup (0.5 oz), and optional simple syrup (0.25 oz) into a cocktail shaker.
Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup) to chill and properly dilute the drink.
Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is frosty and well-chilled.
Double-strain (using a Hawthorne strainer and fine mesh strainer if available) into the prepared rimmed glass over fresh ice (for a rocks presentation) or without ice (for a coupe-style margarita).
Finish & Serve
Garnish with a dried hibiscus flower or a lime wheel on the rim (and a small drizzle of hibiscus syrup over the top if you want a stronger floral note).
Serve immediately. Taste and, if desired, adjust sweetness on subsequent pours by adding 0.25–0.5 oz more simple syrup or hibiscus syrup to preference.
