Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Linguine

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the linguine and set aside.

Shrimp and Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Sauté the Garlic

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant but not browned.

  2. 3

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the gulf shrimp to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.

  3. 4

    Deglaze with White Wine

Pour in the white wine and bring to a simmer, scraping the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits. Let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.

  4. 5

    Add Remaining Ingredients

Stir in the capers, lemon juice, and the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Mix well until the butter is melted and the sauce is combined.

  5. 6

    Combine with Linguine

Add the drained linguine to the skillet, tossing to combine. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency. Adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if necessary.

  6. 7

    Serve

Garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately while hot.
