Burger Patties

Toppings

Method

Prepare the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help it cook evenly.

  3. 3

    Chill the Patties

Place the formed patties on a plate and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This helps them hold their shape during cooking.

Cook the Patties

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you may add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 5

    Cook the Patties

Once the grill or skillet is hot, place the patties on it. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness.

  3. 6

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cover with a lid to help the cheese melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 7

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

  2. 8

    Layer the Toppings

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked patty with melted cheese. Add a slice of tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard to taste.

  3. 9

    Finish the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade hamburgers!
