Method

Cheese Preparation

  1. 1

Take the mozzarella cheese and cut each piece into sticks if they are not already pre-cut. Each piece should be about 1 inch thick and 3 inches long.

Breading Mixture

  1. 2

Prepare a breading station by setting up three shallow dishes. In the first dish, add all-purpose flour and season it with salt and black pepper. In the second dish, beat the eggs until well mixed. In the third dish, add breadcrumbs and Italian seasoning.

  2. 3

Coat each piece of mozzarella first in the flour, ensuring it is fully covered. Shake off any excess flour.

  3. 4

Next, dip the floured mozzarella into the beaten eggs, making sure it is well-coated.

  4. 5

Finally, roll the mozzarella in the seasoned breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well to the cheese.

Frying

  1. 6

In a large, heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 7

Carefully place the breaded mozzarella sticks into the hot oil, a few at a time, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot.

  3. 8

Fry the mozzarella sticks for about 2-3 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides.

  4. 9

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried mozzarella from the oil and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

  5. 10

Serve immediately while hot with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
