1

Chill glass

Place an old‑fashioned (rocks) glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the drink to lightly chill the glass. Discard the ice water before pouring.

2

Prepare ice

Add one large ice cube or ice sphere to the chilled rocks glass. A single large cube melts slower and minimizes dilution.

3

Measure and pour

Measure 2 oz of Booker's bourbon (unfiltered, barrel‑proof bourbon) and pour it directly over the large ice cube in the glass.

4

Optional flavor adjustments

If desired, add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters and/or up to 1/4 teaspoon simple syrup to taste. Stir gently (see next step) to integrate.

5

Stir gently

Using a bar spoon, stir the bourbon and any optional additions 6–8 slow rotations (about 15–20 seconds) to slightly chill and integrate without over‑diluting.

6

Express orange oil and garnish

Take an orange peel and hold it with the exterior facing down over the glass about 2–3 inches above the drink. Give the peel a firm squeeze (or snap) to express the oils over the surface. Rub the peel's rim across the glass edge, then drop the peel into the drink as a garnish.

7

Serve

Serve immediately and advise the drinker to sip slowly to appreciate the high‑proof bourbon's aromas and flavors.
