Preparation

Cooking the Filet

1. Prepare the Filet

Season the filet mignon with olive oil, salt, and black pepper on all sides.

2. Sear the Filet

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add butter and sear the filet for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Remove from skillet and let rest.

Preparing the Tempura Lobster Tail

3. Prepare the Lobster

Carefully split the lobster tails in half lengthwise and remove the meat from the shell.

4. Make the Tempura Batter

In a bowl, combine tempura batter mix and cold water until smooth.

5. Fry the Lobster

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan. Dip lobster meat into tempura batter and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Making the Yum-Yum Sauce

6. Mix the Sauce

In a bowl, combine mayo, ketchup, garlic powder, sugar, paprika, and lemon juice. Mix well until smooth.
