Tiramisu Directions
Prepare the Coffee
Brew a strong cup of espresso coffee and let it cool. If desired, stir in coffee liqueur for extra flavor.
Beat the Egg Yolks
In a mixing bowl, separate the egg yolks from the whites. Beat the yolks with granulated sugar using a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium speed until the mixture is pale and creamy.
Add Mascarpone
Add the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract to the egg yolk mixture. Mix gently until smooth and well combined.
Soak the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso coffee, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
Layer the Ingredients
In a rectangular dish, arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder using a fine sieve. Cut into squares and enjoy your homemade tiramisu!
