Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Ingredients

Fill a large pot with 4 liters of water and add salt to taste. Bring to a boil.

2

Prepare the Potatoes

While the water is heating, wash the baby potatoes thoroughly and set aside.

3

Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and chop the seasonal vegetables into bite-sized pieces.

4

Prepare the Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat and set aside.

Cooking

5

Cook the Crab

Once the water is boiling, carefully add the live Dungeness crabs. Cover and steam for about 15-20 minutes until the crabs are bright orange and cooked through.

6

Cook the Potatoes

While the crabs are cooking, add the baby potatoes to the boiling water and cook for about 15 minutes or until tender. Drain and set aside.

7

Cook the Vegetables

Add the seasonal vegetables to the pot with the potatoes in the last 5 minutes of cooking. Drain and set aside with the potatoes.

8

Char the Lemon

Cut the lemon in half and char it on a hot grill or skillet until grill marks appear, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Serving

9

Plate the Dish

On a large serving platter, arrange the steamed Dungeness crab, baby potatoes, and seasonal vegetables. Serve with melted drawn butter and charred lemon on the side.
