Method

Preparing the Fish & Batter

1

Make the Batter

In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in the craft beer until smooth and combined.

2

Coat the Fish

Dip each haddock fillet into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.

Frying the Fish

3

Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.

4

Fry the Fish

Carefully place the battered fish in the hot oil. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Preparing the Fries

5

Cut the Potatoes

Cut the russet potatoes into thick fries.

6

Fry the Fries

In the same oil used for the fish, fry the potatoes until golden brown and crispy, about 5-6 minutes. Season with salt.

Making the Coleslaw

7

Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, grated carrot, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Toss until well combined.

Preparing the Tartar Sauce

8

Combine the Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, dill pickles, capers, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.
