Method
Gummy Base & Active
Bloom gelatin
Sprinkle 3 tbsp unflavored gelatin evenly over 1/2 cup cold water in a small bowl. Let sit 5–10 minutes until the gelatin absorbs the water and becomes spongy (bloomed).
Prepare colostrum slurry
In a separate small bowl, whisk 1 cup colostrum powder with 1/2 cup filtered water until you have a smooth, lump-free slurry. Use a small whisk or fork and work quickly to avoid clumps.
Warm gelatin gently
Place the bowl with bloomed gelatin into a warm-water bath (or microwave in 5–8 second bursts) and gently warm until melted and liquid, about 20–30 seconds. Do not boil or overheat — keep temperature low to preserve colostrum bioactivity.
Combine melted gelatin and colostrum
Slowly whisk the warm melted gelatin into the colostrum slurry until fully incorporated and smooth. Work gently; the mixture should be warm but not hot (aim for below ~45°C / 113°F) to minimize heat exposure to colostrum's bioactive compounds.
Sweetener & Flavor
Sweeten and flavor
Stir in 1/4 cup raw honey or maple syrup, 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice, 1/4 cup fruit puree or concentrated juice (if using), 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, and 1/8 tsp fine sea salt into the warm colostrum–gelatin mixture. Mix until fully combined and smooth. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity as desired, keeping in mind that chilling reduces perceived sweetness.
Stabilizers & Add-ins (optional)
Mold preparation
Lightly brush silicone gummy molds with 1 tsp coconut or neutral oil to ensure easy release, or spray lightly with a food-safe oil spray. Place molds on a tray for stability.
Fill molds
Working while the mixture is still pourable and warm (but not hot), use a dropper or small measuring spoon to fill gummy molds. Tap the tray gently on the counter to release air bubbles and level the mixture.
Chill to set
Refrigerate the filled molds for at least 1–2 hours, or until gummies are fully set and springy to the touch. For firmer gummies, chill 3–4 hours.
Demold and store
Carefully pop gummies from molds. Store gummies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 10–14 days. For longer storage, freeze in a single layer on a tray until firm, then transfer to a sealed bag and keep frozen up to 3 months. Thaw in refrigerator before use.
