Form & Season Patty
Gently shape the 4 oz ground beef into a 3.5–4 inch round patty about 1/2 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center with your thumb to prevent doming. Season both sides with 1/4 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp black pepper.
Toast Bun & Assemble
Spread 1/2 tsp softened butter on the cut faces of 1 mini hamburger bun. Toast face-down in the skillet for 20–30 seconds until lightly golden. Place the cheesy patty on the bottom bun. Add 1/2 small leaf of lettuce, 1 thin tomato slice, 1 tsp ketchup and 1/2 tsp mustard (or serve condiments on the side). Top with the bun crown and serve.
Fries (choice)
Oven method: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss 3 oz frozen fries with 1 tbsp oil to lightly coat. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake 12–15 minutes, turning once halfway, until golden and crisp. Sprinkle 1/4 tsp salt immediately after removing from oven. Alternative: Deep-fry according to package instructions until golden; drain on paper towels and salt.
Fruit Cup (choice)
Combine 1/4 cup halved seedless grapes, 1/4 cup peeled diced apple and 1/4 cup drained pineapple tidbits in a small bowl. Toss with 1/2 tsp lemon juice to prevent browning and to brighten flavor. Chill briefly or serve immediately.
