Build and serve
Chill a large wine glass or stemmed glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes, or fill it with ice and let it sit while you prepare other elements.
Fill the chilled wine glass about three-quarters full with large ice cubes (about 3–4 cubes). Using large cubes reduces dilution.
Pour 3 oz Aperol over the ice. Tilt the glass slightly and pour gently to avoid excessive foaming.
Add 2 oz chilled Prosecco slowly down the side of the glass to preserve bubbles and to create a layered effect.
Top with 1 oz chilled club soda. Pour gently so the drink stays effervescent.
Give the drink one very gentle stir (about 3 slow revolutions) with a bar spoon to combine — avoid over-stirring which will flatten the bubbles.
Garnish with 1 fresh orange slice placed on the rim or floated in the drink. Serve immediately with a short straw if desired.
Optional adjustments: For a slightly stronger drink, increase Aperol to 3.5 oz or reduce Prosecco by 0.5 oz. For a lighter spritz, increase club soda to 1.5–2 oz.
