Baking Directions
Brown the Butter
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the butter turns a golden brown color and has a nutty aroma. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Prepare the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until well combined. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
Chill the Dough
Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow it to firm up.
Preheat and Bake
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop a large portion of dough (about 1/4 cup) onto the prepared baking sheet. Flatten slightly.
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set. Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
