Cocktail
Garnish & Floater
Method
Prep
Rim the glass
Rub a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks glass, then dip the rim into coarse salt to coat. Fill the glass with fresh ice and set aside.
Shake & Strain
Add blanco tequila (2 oz), fresh lime juice (1 oz), orange liqueur (0.75 oz) and simple syrup (0.5 oz) into a shaker filled with ice (about 1 cup). Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until well chilled.
Double strain
Strain the mixture into the prepared rocks glass over fresh ice. Use a fine strainer if you prefer fewer ice shards or pulp.
Floater & Garnish
Float brandy
Carefully pour Presidente brandy (0.5 oz) over the back of a bar spoon so it floats on top of the cocktail, creating a visible amber layer.
Garnish and serve
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve with a short stirrer so the guest can integrate the floater if desired.
