Muddle Optional Ingredients
In a mixing glass, add 1 sugar cube, 2 dashes of Angostura bitters, and 1 tsp of water. Muddle these ingredients together until the sugar is dissolved.

Add Rye Whiskey
Pour 2 oz of 10 year rye whiskey into the mixing glass with the muddled mixture.

Stir
Add ice to the mixing glass and stir gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled.

Strain
Strain the mixture into a chilled rocks glass over fresh ice or a large ice cube.

Garnish
Express the oils of an orange peel over the drink and drop it in as a garnish.
