1. Chill glass and prepare ice

If desired, chill a copper mule mug or highball glass in the freezer for 5 minutes. Add 1 cup of ice to the chilled glass until nearly full.

2. Build the cocktail

Pour 2 oz Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum over the ice. Add 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice and 1 oz cranberry juice. If you prefer a slightly sweeter drink, add 0.25 oz simple syrup.

3. Top with ginger beer

Carefully top the mixture with 4 oz chilled ginger beer. Stir gently with a bar spoon (about 6–8 gentle rotations) to combine without flattening the ginger beer's fizz.

4. Adjust and taste

Taste the cocktail and adjust balance: add up to 0.25 oz more cranberry for fruitiness, 0.25 oz more lemon for brightness, or a touch more simple syrup for sweetness. Stir gently after any adjustment.

Garnish & serve

5. Garnish with a lemon or lime wedge on the rim, drop 3–4 fresh cranberries into the drink (optional), and slap a mint sprig between your hands to release aroma and place it on top. Serve immediately with a straw if desired.
