Preparation

Prep

1. Rim (optional)

If you want a seasoned rim, rub a lime wedge around the outside lip of a rocks or Collins glass, then dip the rim into coarse salt or tajín spread on a small plate. Set glass aside.

2. If using fresh blood oranges, roll them on the counter with your palm to loosen juices, then cut and juice enough to yield 1 oz. Strain if you prefer a smoother texture.

3. If you don't have hibiscus syrup, make a quick version: simmer 1/2 cup dried hibiscus flowers with 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar for 5 minutes, steep 10 minutes, strain and cool. Store leftover syrup refrigerated.

Build & Shake

4. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

5. Pour in 2 oz Milagro Silver tequila, 1 oz fresh blood orange juice, 0.75 oz hibiscus syrup, 0.25 oz agave syrup, and 0.75 oz fresh lime juice.

6. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is cold and well-chilled.

Finish & Serve

7. Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice.

8. Double-strain the shaken cocktail into the glass to remove ice shards and pulp. (If you prefer a taller, more effervescent drink, use a Collins glass.)

9. Top with 1.5 oz club soda and gently stir once to integrate.

10. Garnish with a blood orange wheel on the rim and, if using, a dried hibiscus flower floated on top.

11. Serve immediately.
