Cocktail
1. Chill glass
Place a coupe or Nick & Nora glass in the freezer or fill with ice water to chill while you prepare the cocktail.
2. Prepare absinthe rinse
Pour about 0.25 tsp absinthe into the chilled serving glass, swirl to coat the inside, then discard any excess (or leave a thin film). This gives the drink its classic anise whisper.
3. Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker filled with fresh ice, add 2 oz St. George Terroir Gin, 0.75 oz Lillet Blanc, 0.5 oz blood orange liqueur, 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice, 0.25 oz simple syrup, and 0.25 oz cherry liqueur (if using).
4. Shake
Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted; this balances the citrus and liqueurs and gives a silky texture.
5. Double strain
Discard ice (or ice water) from the rinsed chilled glass. Double-strain the mixture into the prepared coupe or Nick & Nora glass to remove small ice shards and any pulp.
6. Optional spritz
If you prefer a brighter aromatic finish, lightly spritz about 1 tablespoon soda water over the top or very gently float 0.5 tsp absinthe by pouring it over the back of a bar spoon so it sits on the surface.
7. Garnish
Express the oils of a fresh blood orange (or regular orange) peel over the drink by holding the peel oil-side down above the glass and giving it a sharp squeeze. Rub the peel around the glass rim and drop it in. Add a Luxardo cherry on a pick.
Optional Finish / Service Notes
8. Serve chilled, up (no ice). The Corpse Reviver No. 2 style is bright and bitter-sweet — the Terroir Gin adds savory, herbal earthiness contrasted with the floral Lillet and citrus liqueur; adjust lemon or simple syrup to taste for balance.
9. If you want a slightly lighter, more effervescent version, top the finished drink with a light spritz (1 tbsp) of chilled soda water and serve immediately.
