Brewing Process
1. Mashing
Heat 20 liters of water in a mash tun to around 65-70°C. Add the 5 kg of Pilsner malt and hold the temperature for 60 minutes to convert the starches to sugars.
2. Sparging
After mashing, sparge the grains with additional hot water to collect about 25 liters of wort in the brew kettle.
3. Boiling
Bring the wort to a boil, then add 100 g of Saaz hops. Boil for 60 minutes, adding additional hops if desired for flavor.
4. Cooling
After boiling, quickly cool the wort to about 20°C using a wort chiller.
5. Fermentation
Transfer the cooled wort to a fermentation vessel and pitch the yeast. Seal the vessel and allow it to ferment for 1-2 weeks at around 10-12°C.
6. Conditioning
After fermentation, condition the beer for an additional 1-2 weeks to develop flavor and carbonation.
7. Kegging
Once conditioning is complete, transfer the beer to a keg for draught serving. Ensure proper carbonation before serving.
