Wine Making Process
1. Harvest the Grapes
Pick ripe Gewurztraminer grapes and remove any stems or leaves.
2. Crush the Grapes
Crush the grapes to release the juice. This can be done by hand or with a grape crusher.
3. Fermentation
Transfer the crushed grapes and juice into a fermentation vessel. Add yeast and stir well. Cover the vessel and let it ferment for 2-3 weeks at a controlled temperature (15-20°C).
4. Pressing
After fermentation, press the mixture to extract the clear juice from the solids.
5. Clarification
Allow the wine to settle and clarify for a few weeks. You may add tannins at this stage if desired.
6. Bottling
Once clarified, siphon the wine into sterilized bottles and seal them. Let the wine age for at least 6 months before consuming.
