Bottle details

  1. 1

    Chill the bottle

Place the bottle of 2023 Scarpetta white wine in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving. If you need it chilled quickly, submerge the bottle in an ice bath (a bucket with ice and cold water) for 20–30 minutes until the bottle feels cold to the touch (about 45°F / 7°C).

  2. 2

    Open the bottle

Use a waiter's corkscrew or wine opener to remove the cork or capsule cleanly. Wipe the bottle lip with a clean cloth or napkin to remove any residue. Pour a small taste into a glass and swirl to assess aroma and clarity.

  3. 3

    Optional spritz

If you prefer a lighter, spritz-style drink, pour 3 parts chilled Scarpetta to 1 part sparkling water over ice in a rocks glass. Add a lemon twist and serve immediately.

Servingware and accompaniments

  1. 4

    Prepare glasses

Chill white wine glasses in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes beforehand or rinse with cold water and leave upside-down in the freezer for 5–10 minutes. Use tulip-shaped or standard white wine glasses to concentrate the aromatics.

  2. 5

    Pour and serve

Pour the wine into chilled glasses, filling to about one-third full (approximately 4–5 ounces / 120–150 ml per serving) to allow room for swirling. If serving four, pour evenly to yield about 4 servings from a standard 750 ml bottle. Provide a small pitcher of still water and optional lemon twists for guests to cleanse their palates between sips.

  3. 6

    Storage after opening

If you have leftover wine, re-cork the bottle (use the original cork or a reusable stopper) and refrigerate upright. Consume within 2–4 days for best quality. For a spritz, keep sparkling water separate and mix just before serving.
