Fill a rocks glass with ice cubes to chill while preparing the cocktail.

In a mixing glass, combine the Buffalo Trace bourbon, Angostura bitters, and simple syrup.

Add ice to the mixing glass and stir gently for about 20-30 seconds until well chilled.

Discard the ice from the chilled rocks glass and strain the mixed cocktail into the glass over fresh ice.
