Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and cut the russet potatoes into quarters. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water.

Cook the Potatoes

Bring the pot to a boil and add 1 tsp of salt. Reduce heat and simmer until the potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.

Drain the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes in a colander and return them to the pot.

Mash the Potatoes

Add the butter and heavy cream to the potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
