Tzatziki Ingredients

Method

Tzatziki Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cucumber

Wash the cucumber thoroughly and then grate it using a box grater or a food processor. Place the grated cucumber in a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth and squeeze out excess moisture to prevent the tzatziki from becoming watery.

  2. 2

    Mince the Garlic

Peel the garlic cloves and mince them finely using a knife or a garlic press.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, fresh dill, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Stir well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

  4. 4

    Chill the Tzatziki

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate the tzatziki for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

  5. 5

    Serve

Once chilled, give the tzatziki a good stir and serve it as a dip with pita bread, fresh vegetables, or as a sauce for grilled meats.
