Prepare the Strawberry Sorbet
Start by making the strawberry sorbet. In a blender, combine fresh strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Blend until smooth.

Chill the Sorbet Mixture
Pour the blended mixture into a bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until well chilled.

Churn the Sorbet
Once chilled, pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency. Transfer to a container and freeze for at least 4 hours to firm up.

Prepare the Gelato Base
In a medium saucepan, combine whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.

Cool the Gelato Base
Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the mixture to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Once the gelato base is chilled, pour it into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it becomes thick and creamy. Transfer to a container and freeze for at least 4 hours.
