Ahi Tuna and Sides

Method

Preparation and Cooking

1

Prepare the Ahi Tuna

In a small bowl, mix olive oil, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Marinate the tuna steaks in this mixture for at least 30 minutes.

2

Cook the Asparagus

While the tuna is marinating, wash and trim the asparagus. Steam or boil the asparagus for about 5-7 minutes until tender, then drizzle with lemon juice and set aside.

3

Make the Mashed Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks, then boil them in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash the potatoes with butter and milk until creamy. Season with salt to taste.

4

Cook the Ahi Tuna

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the tuna from the marinade and sear each side for about 2-3 minutes, or until desired doneness.

5

Plate and Serve

Serve the Ahi tuna steak alongside a generous scoop of mashed potatoes and steamed asparagus.
